Interesting things to do & visits:
- Chhatia: Though locals call it Chhatiabata, it is the sacred place of pilgrimage as it is a shrine of Lord Jagannath.
- Chandikhol: A well-known picnic destination surrounded by green hills and perennial streams, the Mahavinayak temple and ashram of Baba Bhairavananda are two major crowd pullers.
- Car drive Car drive from Cuttack is a very attractive ride, on the Jobra Anicut, with the Mahanadi River and through many small Odisha villages and towns. Dhableshwar Island can also be contacted by boat rides from Cuttack. The boarding point is not very well marked – if you go to the CDA from Chahata Ghata Chaka, then pointing to Baimundi Nagar about 3 kilometers from the board, you will see an icon called ‘Dabaleswar Ghat’ in the ODI, you have to walk down to the river ghat to take the boat.
Interesting things to visits :
- Bali Yatra is the second largest trade festival in Asia held every year in Cuttack. It is organized in the month of November. The festival of kite flying is another attraction in the cultural calendar of Cuttack tourism and here lots of fun.
- A big fair is organized in the month of Pretaksh Chaturdasi, Kartik is called Bada-Osha and various functions like Shivaratri, Pausha purnima, Dola purnima, and Kartika purnima are celebrated here. Please visit and enjoy this festival.
Dabaleshwar was named because of the miracle performed by Lord Shiva. Once a thief stole the calf of a black bull from a village and participated in a Shiva temple. He hid himself from the calf in the holy place while the angry mob was waiting outside the temple. The crowd can clearly hear calling out to the calf. Thieves had urged Lord Shiva to give him salvation from the crowd. He was pitying on it, God used to appear as a sannyasin before the crowd and telling him the reason for his movement, that he had doubted the thieves of concealed in the womb with a black calf, Sanassin to remove the bull Doubt brought out The calf turned white, so that the thieves went away. The sanyasi disappeared and the thief realizes who came to help him. He confessed and apologized to the crowd. They pledged to spend their whole life in the service of the Lord. Lord Shiva was known as Dabaleshwar due to whitening black color.

Dhabaleswar Temple
The Dhabeshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and here Shiva is worshiped. This temple is 27 km away from the city of Cuttack. This is famous for its weekend tourism. The temple is situated on an island on the Mahanadi River. This temple is decorated with stone carvings. The atmosphere here is very calm and inspires spiritual spirit inside everyone.
