• 3-km from Rayagada, the river Nagavali flows through a deep cut valley, forming two lovely waterfalls. An ideal picnic spot known for its scenic beauty, the place gets its name from the huge elephant shaped boulders that litter the landscape. In Oriya, ‘Hati’ means elephant and ‘Pathar’ means boulder.

• You can take a bus or a hired car from Jeypore to reach the waterfall. If you start early in the morning, you can reach the place by midday, spend the day at Hathipathar and head for Jeypore after sundown and you will reach by night. However, to have most of the place.

• Reaching here is extraordinarily easy, as it is in the Rayagada city and taxis and private vehicles are allowed, during day time. The is no fee to visit these falls.
