Do’s & Don’ts
- Tourists now have to walk four kilometre after parking their vehicles to reach the waterfall.
- If you care to hop, skip and jump like a monkey, Mankadadian falls in Gajapati district of south Odisha is the place you should be.
- Cars/mini vehicles/bikes can be easily taken to reach the destination.
- By taking a bus, you have to keep your bus at 1 km away from the spot and you’ve to walk to reach it.
- Be careful for the water slide and the rocks . you can sleeped there.
- Very nice place for picnic party. But you need to bring drinking water as much as you need because there’s no facility for drinking water.
- The depth of the water is more there.Be careful while walking on the rocks.You may hurt yourself if you slip.
- The place is not safe for children and old age person because the places road is slippery & if you want to go to the waterfall then you have to walk 1.5 kilometers from the main road . Also you can use bike or Scotty !

• Mankada dian waterfall is located near R.Udaygiri, of gajapati district in odisha state,a pristine natural beauty near Kankada village under Sialilati panchayat of this block in Gajapati district . Tis site is near about 70 kms from brahmapur town. 13 km from the jiranga city.
• The waterfall drains down a hill from a 100ft height.
• The picturesque site is a tourists’ delight as one has to walk around 2km hilly tracks along a stream to reach there.
• The trekking track towards the fall is such a tricky journey that a visitor has to adopt the tricks of the monkey to reach there, hence the name, locals said.
• From Berhampur, one has to go to Chandragiri and then reach a village called Kanakada. A tourist then has to trek and go to the falls.
• While trekking one can also get a beautiful view of the green hills and the valleys nearby. The tribal settlements along the tracks are also interesting and the tourists from the cities and towns can have a peek at the tribal lifestyle. There are about 30 houses of the native forest dwellers along the way to the falls.
• After visiting the falls a tourist can also go to Khasada, another waterfall nearby. Hanumanpada (meaning the footprint of Lord Hanuman) is also an important site at a distance of about 20km near Khajuripada.
• Legend has it that since Lord Hanuman had probably travelled near the Mahendragiri hill range in Gajapati district.
• Thus, the Hanumanpada could have some historical and mythological importance.
• A small waterfall within 15km from Mankadadian named Ghodasala (meaning stable) is also a scenic spot.
• The small waterfall is called so since there are signs of horse shoe-shaped marks on the rocks. Local residents say that when the British rulers attacked the local king he kept his horses in the caves near the waterfall.

I have visited the waterfall a number of times, but still its beauty and serenity attracts me. The only difficult time to negotiate through the trek is the monsoon season as the streams turn into small rivers and the rocks become slippery,’. Take a trip to trekkers paradise. I Never thought it could be that much beautiful ...!!!!!
