- It is preferable to book a private cab from Keonjhar. Due to its remote location, public transport to this area is unpredictable.
• Sitabinji, Keonjhar is a historical place of odisha. Sitabinji is at a distance of about 22 KM from Keonjhar Town. Sitabinji Fresco Painting & Rock Inscription is located on the side of holy Sita river in a beautiful natural ambience encircled with sprawling mountain rangse. A magnificent stone looks like a temple stands in country yard with a height of approx. 150 feet high which is considered as a major attraction of the spot. Maa Sita Thakurani is the presiding goddess of the pitha along with her two sons Laba & Kusha worshipped under a mammoth stone like temple structures from time immemorial.
• Legend has it that Maa Sita used this place as a shelter when she was deserted by Lord Rama and gave birth to Luv and Kush at this very place.
• According to historians, there is also enough evidence to suggest that few Buddhist monks of the Hinayana sect inhabited Sitabinji during 4th -6th century BC.
• Sitabinji is famous for its big rocks , Caves , ‘Ravan Chhaya’and gained prominence for the acient fresco tempera painting.
• Sitabinji hill is in the village ‘Dengaposi’. While going from Keonjhar towards Anandpur, one has to take a right (that means go towards south) at Katrabeda village, approx. 5 km before reaching Dhenkikot. After 8 km, Dengaposi village will come.

The locals also believe that Godess Sita gave birth to Luv and Kush at this very place. A small temple (actually a mud and brick structure) with the carved stone idols of Maa Sita and her two sons is located between a natural cavity formed by two seemingly perilous, humongous boulders perched against each other at different angles.
